About the Chorus:

The Midlothian Men’s Chorus is a non-auditioned community chorus open to all men 18 and older in Midlothian, VA, and surrounding areas. We sing choral music written for Tenor-Bass voices in a variety of styles, with a commitment to excellence, enjoyment, and artistry.

Rehearsals are Sunday evenings from 7:00- 8:30 p.m. at Salisbury Presbyterian Church in Midlothian. Singers register for each concert cycle independently, so you can choose the sessions that work best for you. View our rehearsal calendar here.

Founding Artistic Director: Mark Patterson

Dr. Mark Patterson is a nationally acclaimed composer, conductor and teacher.  He has worked with choral groups of all ages in public school, university, and church music settings, and is excited to launch the Midlothian Men’s Chorus! Mark enjoys engaging singers with humor and creativity throughout the rehearsal process to deliver powerful and meaningful performances. His compositions are performed throughout the United States and around the world, with over 400 titles currently in print. He received his PhD in Fine Arts-Music Education with an emphasis in Choral Conducting from Texas Tech University and Master of Music and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.

Collaborative Pianist: Wes Dunnavant

Wes Dunnavant is thrilled to be accompanying the Midlothian Men’s Chorus! For over 20 years, Wes has accompanied choirs and soloists in schools, churches, and many other community settings. Wes is a proud alumnus of the Specialty Center for the Performing Arts at Thomas Dale High School in Chesterfield County and served as Director of Worship and Music at Bethany Place Baptist Church for ten years. He now arranges music for local show and concert choirs and performs as a tenor with the James River Singers. When he is not making music, Wes can often be found supporting teachers and students in his full-time role, Coordinator of Instructional Technology for Chesterfield County Public Schools.
